The slim only has one hard drive available.  A 250 gb drive.  If you have the 4gb slim you can purchase the hard drive at any store.

I have not heard of any but that does not mean much.
If there are some available be aware given the HDD has to be inserted into the console 3rd party hardware may well void any warranty on the console. I do know if this is the case but its worth checking into.

3rd party drives do exist but have a high failure rate.  Bear in mind that some games require an official xbox hard drive and won't work with a 3rd party drive.  This also includes xbox original games.

Cheers for the info about that Onyx :),
Personally I stay well away from 3rd party products. They might save a little money in the short term but long term its a gamble I wouldn't take.

Exactly GreyPilgrim.  A good rule of thumb to follow, OP, is to not purchase your hard drive online.  Go to a legitimate store to purchase one.  These days, it's the only way to be sure you get an official xbox hard drive and avoid all the problems.

Simply put the third party hard drives do not contain the necessary proprietary software needed by the system. If you use a third party hard drive you run the risk of a possible console ban (as some third party hardware is not supported by MS) and/or other issues with your profile and its content such as game saves, etc.

I would strongly recommend you stick with purchasing the official MS hard drive. Currently the only size available is the 250Gb. Coming soon there will be a 320Gb.

As can be seen here it is not recommended: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/7/p/15518/102422.aspx#102422

Are there any problems with using a using a Gen 1 Xbox360 HDD (e.g. a 20GB or 120GB) that's been removed from its casing and installed in the Slim's expansion port? Would that void the 360 Slim's warranty, even though it's a genuine Xbox360 drive?
