351F-0000-0080-0300-8007-2741 update ERROR :(

When I try to download the new update I get the following error:  351F-0000-0080-0300-8007-2741. I have tried clearing the cache and all that stuff. Nothing works. I have yet to try to install it from a CD. I will try today but I don't have high hopes for that because it doesn't seem to be working for anyone else. I'm not trying to ask what the problem is ... I know what the problem is. And please (this is to SUPPORT TEAM) don't tell me that it's a home networking issue because it is not. What I would like to know is this: What is being done about this issue, and when will there be a fix out? This is really a spectacularly ridiculous way to get rewarded for paying 50+ a year for XBOX LIVE service and some sort of reimbursement for those affected is most DEFINITELY in order.

It's happening to me, as well. I think it's because it's a new update and so many players are trying to update at one time. I'm just gonna wait. Nothing else I can do right now.

This was happening to me.  What you need to do it clear your cache, then on the HDD hit LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.  When it restarts do not update, just shut off your xbox.  Next, download the update to your computer, unzip it, burn to a cd, then put that cd into the xbox.  When it starts it will ask you to update, hit yes.  This worked for me, does not require xbox live connection so you won't get the error.  If you do not use the LB, RB, X thing, the update won't download.

@max ... I wish that were true but I don't believe that's the case man. I've tried many times but to no avail. Also, this sort of thing has never been an issue for me before but I'm quite sure that at those times there were many other downloading it :/

@joshy ... Yeah I'm definitely going to try that tonight. Just to clarify though, were you getting the exact same error code as me? Because there are actually several going around ... and from what I've read so far everyone who had the same one as me was not able to fix the problem by burning to a disk or USB ...

I would like to say that this error is not just showing up for you.

If you could please try to put the update on a USB?

If this still does not work then you could have problems with you connection/Xbox's Servers.

Krypton, thanks you for your concern. I tried to burn to a disk and install that way. Everything seemed to working just fine. It extracted everything and installed it. But then after the console restarted and I tried to connect to live. It told me that I need an update but that it is 'unavailable' at this time ... or something like that. I'm just really so [mod removed] right now. This has nothing to do with my connection ... it has to do with MS releasing a [mod removed]broken update.

Hey there. Just to clarify, you did the manual update and it seemed to work fine, but then when you tried to connect to LIVE it asked you to update again?

Well by 'seem to work fine' I meant that it was actually doing something as opposed to a stationary bar that doesn't move and then gives me that error code ... something about it still seemed a bit off though. But when the console restarted and I tried to connect ... it did NOT give me the same message/screen as before. It did say that an update was required ... but told me that it was unavailable, and that I should contact support. I actually tried this on two consoles ... and they both showed the same exact message.

@Sir Greek Fire - Can you view the current Dashboard version? To do so, go to System Settings/Console Settings, then scroll down to System Info. In the pane to the right, there should be a Dashboard version number.

@miss portia ... I'm responding to your previous message in the locked thread here. Thank you for your understanding ... I definitely appreciate it. Once again, I just wanted you to see things from my perspective, that's all. Also, I do indeed have two consoles ... I mentioned it in a different thread (one which I didn't start) so it's understandable that you would have missed it. The consoles are in two separate households ... neither of them have ever had a problem (and again this is more evidence for this not being a network issue).

I will check on that dashboard version shortly and get back to you on that ...
