3 ring death (possible faulty powersupply?)

I have been told random 2 and 3 ring deaths have been due to faulty hardware i think my powerbrick might be at fault I noticed sometimes when i unplug the bricks power source and let it sit off and then plug it in the xbox 360 will boot up sometimes freezes up during boot sequence can the powerbrick be the cause of this?

Also I have a friend who is a certified microsoft partner would he be a authorized person to look at my internal hardware on my xbox 360 i am just a certified pc tech just not a certified microsoft partner yet

Unless the light on the brick is red then no it's not the part that's at fault.
