2 Xboxes on Linksys EA3500

told by support today that this router is not capable of sustaining 2 xboxes.

i have one that works perfectly. always connects. the second is hit or miss. no errors provided by xbox live connection test. only states that it had problems connecting and to reset router and modem.

tried DMZ, single port forwarding etc.

anybody else using an EA3500 with multiple boxes?

Hi

It will be the router, not many router can support multiple Xboxes with an Open NAT, please turn off any port forwarding/DMZ configuration

Enable UPnP

Set your Xboxes to "auto" ip address

Ensure you are running the latest firmware on the router

As UPnP is the only real way to support multiple xboxes, but many routers do not implement UPnP to the required level to do this

Your modem can and will support both XBOXs. I have the same router in my other room. Ran both with no issues whatsoever. Now currently running a E2100L in the computer room here. Hit or miss show1s the XBOX isn capable of getting the connection as well. Sounds like the wireless connector is broken. You have a external or one built in on the slim models?

Depends on the router Binary, most ones on standard issue from your ISP don't support it, but on request you can get upgraded to the proper ones.

The EA3500 will support it. It's not an ISP issue here. Kind of like saying a desktop and 2 laptops would/t be able to run on a connection. Also the2 EA3500 is a dual band router. He can get connection to both but like he says, it's hit or miss.
