2 Wired Controllers both "Sync" in the 1st Position (or as Player 1)

Hey All,

2 Xbox 360 S 250 Gig, 4 Wired Controllers (am old school [:)] )

Whenever I attach 2 wired controllers to either console they both come up as Player 1. (or in the first position)

Things i tried.

  1.  Cleared Cache
  2.  Swapped Controllers arround
  3.  Tried with/without HDD.
  4.  Works fine with Wireless Controllers (but want it to work with wired controllers, please don't judge!)

Any ideas or advice? Thanks in advance!

No judging here! :) What happens if you have the 2 wired controllers plugged into the system while it's off, and then start it up?

Nothing wrong with wired controllers fella :). People are not here to judge you anyway, they are here to help.

So Just to clarify even if you have both controllers plugged in together only one will sync to P1?, and the P2 light does not light up at all.

I am not sure if it counts with wired controllers (probably not) but have you tried using the sync buttons on the pads and console at all?. Most likely does not apply to wired pads though.:(

I know this is a pretty old post but i just bought a kinect bundle and picked up 4 wired controllers and i have this very same issue, having scoured the internets i found this post, and a youtube video [View:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSR_RRhV3W8] . Pretty well shows exactly what happens. I have tried everything imaginable as far as turning off, turning on, plugging, unplugging etc it always happens. Again these are brand new microsoft brand wired controllers just like the video (not my video).

Personally i despise wireless controllers. Buying batteries sucks! And if you use a charge n play... it has a cord... and where is your wireless controller? In the couch cushions? Behind the bed? I prefer to just follow the cord.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything about this at all as i cannot find very much info about it.

Hey there Altered - thanks for the post. :) When you are encountering this issue, do you have any profiles signed in at all? Or is this before signing in to your Xbox LIVE Profile?

Hi

I was having a problem getting two wireless controllers to work.  I then found this link that explains about connecting the controllers to the xbox using the connect buttons on the xbox and receivers.  I now have 1 wired and 2 wireless all working.

Might help you too.
