2 consoles causing update loop

I have 2 consoles and use 1 HDD (old style) between the two.

When i update my home console and then take my HDD to work, my work console updates, then back home and requires update again. Constantly both consoles need the update, this has never happened before, usually i take my work console home and update it on my broadband. I recently hooked up a dongle though and use that to connect to LIVE whilst in work so my achievements get time-stamped.

I think i'm going to try taking my console home on the weekend, but if i can get it fixed today with a better solution i will do that.

Firstly , welcome to the xbox support forums. Going back to your question I have a few suggestions 1. Try installing the update again  2.Make sure you have enough storage space. 3.Clear the system cache 4.Reinsert the storage device 5. Copy the update to a USB flash drive or CD/DVD For more information on how to do these please go here support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help and to book  a repair please go here  myservice.xbox.com/.../Welcome.aspx

I think points 1-4 are moot.

I will try 5 though, can i add the system update to my HDD rather than system storage?

EDIT: i've just logged on at work and the system update seems to have stuck? i havn't changed anything, infact the only thing i did since going home and updating my home console with the update (again) was install Lollipop Chainsaw to my HDD.

.

Anyway it seems to have resolved itself.... *insert smiley face of choice*
