$115 for repairs? Please think of Customer Loyalty.

I take meticulous care of my electronics. I was surprised to come home and hear my 13 month-old Xbox One Console making a loud buzzing noise when plugged in. Found out that repair was going to be $115! One month outside of their warranty, and now I need to pay almost a third the cost of a new console?

Anyway, told the representative that I will not plan to repair. It pains me a bit. We have been an Xbox family since the original Xbox purchase in 2002. To be honest, I was hoping Microsoft would stand by their product and help out with the repair anyway. Customer loyalty was my thought. (They will make far more money off of my family and me by keeping us around through the purchases of consoles, accessories, games, add-ons, etc.)

We will run the Xbox One console until it dies, and then reevaluate our options for our gaming needs. Feel free to get in touch, Microsoft!

That $115. Does it cover the repair and extend the warranty for another year?

To my knowledge, only the repair. Warranty would not be extended.

Maybe someone from Xbox can correct me?

Warranty would be extended by 90 days.

How many companies do you know that give out free repairs once a warranty has expired?
