Xbox Series X won't connect to 5Gz Wi-Fi

I got an Xbox Series X a week ago and am noticing it will not connect to the 5G Wi-Fi I have. When I try it keeps saying that I have the network name and/or password wrong, I checked and I put everything in correctly. It connects to the 2G Wi-Fi signal I also have, so the issue seems to be with the 5G. In addition, it sometimes takes a while to reconnect after start up. Never had these issues with my One S. Does this sound like it could be a hardware issue? So I know whether I should go return it while I still can. Or should I hold onto it and wait for an update?

I have tried a system reset already, it did not fix the problem. Also tried contacing Xbox Support, got no answer.

This is the answer. You are exactly right you have to change your setting on your 5G in your router to 40 MHz or greater. Restart your router, then go in to the Xbox to advance settings and clear the DNS and restart your Xbox. When you go to set up your connection again it should show 5G. This is what worked for me.

So  I  was  having  the  same  issue , but  I  was  doing  some research  and  found  that  you  need  to  go  into  your  home  wifi  settings  and   change  your  channel  bandwidth  to  40 MHz  or  greater. I  did  this  and my  issue was resolved  and  was  able  to  connect  to  my  5G  wifi  no problem. Hope  this  helps  yall!!!
