Xbox Series X turns itself off

Hi,

My Xbox Series X keeps shutting down 5-10 seconds into a game loading up. I’ve tried reinstalling the games and a full reset of the console but nothing’s working.

Can anybody help?

anybody tested the new 2011.201117-2300 Version, any changes?

The one before the -2300 actually worked for me. I'm kind of scared to update it again. I guess we'll see.

that update didn't revert the my box back from the functional state the prior update put it in so i'll call that a win from me.

This update did not help either. 

Currently waiting for my new console which should arrive today. I will return this one to amazon.

I refunded my faulty XSX and got a new console from the store, had to wait few days for another one to reappear in-stock. Everything seems working fine. So my guess it's hardware. What i noticed is that faulty one smelled different. Yes that's sounds funny but faulty one smelled like an old camera or film projector, and new one smells like car interior. Maybe it's different paste or something. Also faulty one was more hot in idle state compared to this one.

Hello to all,

i got my XSX since release, no problems so far. Im not sure, but only one time it shuts down from loading Forza horizon 4, but i think my AV Receiver. (earc) shuts my Xbox off. Since then absolutely no Problems. I tried Forza Horizon 4, COD Cold War, Witcher 3, Gears 5, and an old Xbox360 Game. I played all this Games for hours and no one shuts down my Console. Thinks that i have chanced to the Xbox Settings: disabled HDMI-CEC, and configured the Xbox to newer shut off when idle after hours. No Problems with Disc Drive or noisy Fan. Im pretty sure its NOT an Hardware issue. It simply cant be possible that so much Consoles are defective. I think its an Operating System Problem, and maybe a compatibility Problem with some Tvs. My original packaging from my Xbox was perfectly fine,not damaged.

I also switched every 20-30 between this Games instantly with Quick Resume. They loaded every Time perfectly fine.

Oh, it's absolutely possibly. Remember the 360 red ring of death debacle? Really takes you back...

Oh. Could be. I remember buying a 360 and it being busted. Think the guy behind the counter said they had lots of returns due to malfunctions. Hope they get this sorted with software though.

I got my 360 back in 2008. Never had a RRofD issue at all and is still working to this day. Obviously got it way past when it was a problem. I just hope my XSX comes without issue in two weeks. The fact there's been no word from M$ on this is truly worrysome. If I do get one I think I might refund it from Amazon and get one in the new year when they get their sh*t together.

Just chcked out the latest omega release that came out last night. Made no difference to my experience still getting the xbox shutting down.  That was the 3rd update theyve released with fixes for this issue that hasnt made any difference. I'm giving it until Saturday then returning to the retailer!

i disabled HDR10 and now i haven't this problem any more
