XBOX SERIES X issue - Support FANATEC steering wheels

Controller support must be baked into each individual game. As with Logitech, if you wish your additional features to be supported, then the manufacturer must work with both amicrosoft and the game studio to introduce support for those functions.

This sort of support has been there since the original Xbox, see Steel Battalion, which not only had way more buttons, but it had interactive lighting to boot.

My HOTAS has additional buttons and is supported by flight simulator

What they mean is that if you don’t get custom support,, and are using standard Xbox controller driver, everything must map to the existing controller inputs on the standard control pad. Rock Band controllers work like this for example.

I am also in the same position, I hate that I spent money on a xbox series x, Microsoft is awful to do this my fanatec v2 wheel works perfectly on the old xbox one and not on the xbox series x is crazy!!!

Like yourself ive a V2 and have issues (I have a CSL elite that was bought really for the PS4, but bought the V2 as an extra wheel.)

Bought a series X and Forza 7 seemed to work okay, issues ive had where ACC and snow runner. ACC just doesnt want to admit that there are pedals plugged in.

Basically ive gave up trying to use it on series X (i will try other games that are on game pass, but thats it)

Yes. I have Xbox Series X and CSL DD, Clubsport Formula V2.5X. LED not working, many buttons not working 😠

Hi there everyone. I investigated this issue a few months back. From what i can gather, both Fanatec and Microsoft are responsible. It seems that the hardware developer (Fanatec) has to pay to develop the SDK, at their own expense, but Microsoft will not guarantee that it will be allowed to be implemented. If they refuse the SDK, it is then up to Fanatec to develop a new one, at their expense again, and still with no guarantees it will be allowed. If Microsoft gave the hardware developers a little freedom, they may be more willing to sort out the SDK, but they won`t. Fanatec are not willing to spend lots of money developing something that should really be done by Microsoft, or both companies. Logitech took the risk, and their SDK was allowed, but it could just as easily have been refused, costing Logitech a lot of wasted money. It should be a relatively easy solution to this problem, but we all know how anal Microsoft are about their technology.

Hello Steve. Happy holidays. Thanks for the confirmation of my thoughts. I raised a complain to MS early this year, as you can guess would have been more useful to save the money spent on it...I was wondering if a class action from the US could solve this problem on a worldwide perspective ? After all, PC users don't experience those issues...Would like to hear you about this.

Hi All and happy new year! Have you seen the official compatibility video from Fanatec for CSL DD (part 2) on Youtube? The video talk about the compatibility with Xbox console and at min 3:20 show the Formula V2 or V2.5 rim with all LEDs lights working! Is that possible?

I'm doubtful, it's probably showing pc gameplay

If u look closely the power button is in pc (red) mode, I have a fanatec eco system and at least half its functionality is functionless !!!
