Xbox Series X controller drains batteries fast issue

I have the series X and I'm getting about 15 hours or less with my rechargeable batteries. The single use batteries that came with the controller barely lasted a week. My one X controller has way better battery life.

Is anyone else seeing much less battery life in series X controllers?

Yes, same here.

It seems/feels like the new series x controller uses twice as much.

I used an official Microsoft recharge pack. The same pack in an xbox one controller lasts at least twice as long maybe even longer.

I have to say I am using the the controllers on PC occasionally, maybe 1-2h a day, 3-5 days a week.

The new xbox controller had to be recharged after two days, while the xbox one is recharged after maybe 10-12 days, depending on use.

It seems like the new controller drains battery while turned "off" maybe it's an issue with Bluetooth?

Anyway, the new xbox controller is very new, I have to test it further, maybe using a stopwatch to count my usage and compare with my old controller

Same here, I get one decent night, (6-9 hours of gaming) Its definetly an issue, especially when vibration turns off during a gta 5 heist. Terrible compared to xbox one controller.

I get empty batteries after about 2 days of use. I only play about 3 hours a day. I think the controllers must still be on even if the xbox is off. Possibly the bluetooth is in roaming state?

Experiencing the same issue—quite aggravating. I have only had the series S for 10 days, with a few hours gaming every other day (I don’t have too much free time with work and a toddler).  Definitely going to buy a rechargeable pack this weekend.  Won’t be buyin stupid AAs every week.
