Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 Bumper Not Working

Hi,

I received an Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller this past Christmas, and after only 6 months of use, the left bumper barely works, and only registers inputs at most, 20% of the time. The controller was marketed to have fixed this flaw from the previous iteration, but evidently, that isn't the case. As this was a gift, I obviously don't personally have a proof of purchase, and the serial number, while showing up in my connected devices to my account, won't come up when I go to support.

bumpers have a tendency to fail which sucks best I can suggest it so map a paddle on the back to the bumper.

Weird question....but is it only happening to you in menus?   I was having the same issue and was becoming very frustrated but then I noticed that while playing actual games it seems to work 100% of the time.

I've had to replace 3 elite controllers for the same issue. Granted I didn't treat them bad but accidents happen. When I would first notice this issue I would try to blow out any dust or loose dirt out from under the button. Problem may persist and if the button actually comes off do not try and work it back it because there is a certain configuration and way they go back in. Best advice is to without voiding any warranty on the controller putting a very small piece of tape between the bumper and main part of the controller that way you can still use it until you figure out what your next steps are.

I'd suggest you map RB & LB to the top back paddles & LT & RT to the bottom back paddles it should allow you to use it without issue & it's better as well to be honest.

J’ai reçu une Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller ce dernier Noël, et après seulement 6 mois d’utilisation, le pare-chocs gauche fonctionne à peine, et enregistre seulement les entrées au plus, 20% du temps. Le contrôleur a été commercialisé pour avoir corrigé ce défaut de l’itération précédente, mais évidemment, ce n’est pas le cas. Comme c’était un cadeau, je n’ai évidemment pas personnellement une preuve d’achat, et le numéro de série, tout en se présentant dans mes appareils connectés à mon compte, ne viendra pas quand je vais à la prise en charge.

Hello

You can try to put your controller in the freezer overnight but take batteries out. then take it out and mash all the buttons.

Or use rubbing alcohol and pore it on the bumpers. just make sure to do it over the sink.

This has worked for me.
