[Xbox 360] - Latest Original Xbox games will not download.

Just a heads up, the latest batch of original Xbox games are available to purchase but will not download to Xbox 360. The download corrupts near the end.

This is usually due to the download being flagged on Microsoft's end as "Xbox 360 Game" instead of "Xbox Originals".

Hopefully this'll get resolved soon.

Thank you for posting on the XBox forums. The Xbox backwards compatibility program is intended for the Xbox One, so the digital downloads for Xbox Original backwards compatible games can only be downloaded on an Xbox One console. You can probably still play Xbox Original games on the Xbox 360 if you have the discs and if they were backwards compatible back when it was available on the Xbox 360.

Thank you for posting on the XBox forums. You can purchase directly on Xbox 360 and commence the download. Around 80%-near the end, the download will give an error. The licence is for both Xbox 360 & Xbox One platforms.

It's a known recurring issue, happened with the last batch of original Xbox games in April 2018 and October 2017. It occurs when the download is flagged as "Xbox 360 Game" server side/download list & game page on the Xbox 360 console. It's supposed to be flagged as "Xbox Originals" in order to download correctly to Xbox 360 consoles.

I apologize for the wording, not really asking a question or for support, just letting know the issue so it can be resolved.

I have found that unreal championship 2 the liandri conflict is not even buyable. It asks for a redeem code so i tried the hard copy disc and it says its not backwards compatible

I just bought Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge, Fuzion Frenzy, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden Black, Psychonauts, and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for the Xbox 360 and the download keep stopping.

Not yet, download is  supposed to flagged as “Xbox Originals Game”. 

Basically, the console starts to download, but with instructions to setup and install an Xbox 360 Game, leading to confusion and corruption.

That's great news that the error can be resolved. Have been trying to  download The Emperors Tomb for days. Complete format of Xbox 360, OS update deleted and reinstalled. Network checked, downloaded other live content no problem. Thought it was me! or 360, pleased error can be resolved. Thanks for post.
