Xbox 360 Kinect - Not starting up anymore

Hi All,

My Xbox 360 E Console came with a kinect senor which was working 100%. We played the Adventures game that came along and the sensor was working. Changed the game to another dancing game and the sensor stopped working. I unplugged the sensor from the Xbox and waited several minutes and plugged it back in but now just shows "Sensor Starting Up...." But never starts up. I have format the HDD of the XBOX, Cleared the cache, Updated the xbox to the latest version but the sensor keeps saying starting up.

I have ensured that its level, position is in middle of TV, it just does not start up.

Any advise would help me alot as my daughter now cannot play any of the Kinect games which she loves. I just cannot see how a sensor will work and then stop working by changing to another game without switching the xbox off.?

Please suggest things i can try to get the sensor to start up, perhaps im doing something wrong.

Have you tried calibrating the Kinect? Perhaps by doing this he will recognize the device again.

Hi, That is for the XBOX One Kinect, is it the same as for my Xbox 360 Kinect?

Yes, i format hdd, updated to latest firmware and see there was update yeaterday but still not starting up. 

Under kinect setting the xbox sees the sensor and when i plug it in as well but does not start up....

How can it be a hard drive issue? The problem is with the Kinect, not anything on the console.

It's probably a fault that has occurred on the Kinect. the problem is Microsoft no longer support them, and no longer repair them either. Your only option would be to purchase another one, but as they are no longer manufactured, your only option is to purchase a used/2nd hand one.

I have been trying steps as per specialist after i logged a ticket and will try more things today. I just dont see how the Kinect will stop working by just changing the game while it was working.
