Why won’t Microsoft help and How do I contact management that can help me?

Looking for help getting access to my Microsoft account. Been in the cycle of verification form, fail, verification form fail for about a week straight and none of the customer support can help me. It makes it worse cause I have a subscription and thousands of dollars of purchases under the account and no matter who I talk to thry parrot the same answers a million times. So my two questions are how: 1. How do I get my account back? 2.Is there any real customer support that can help me?

You'll must go thru the verificstion form

You must pass PII requirements to regain access ro your account it isn't something that can be bypass because it's a legal requirement set up by privacy laws

Pro tip use the more info field if you login onto your account with any device it's best to fill out the form with that device

And mention that you used that device with your account including Mac address and ip

Achievements dates friends account creation date

Billing address

Payment cards used etc

Btw they aren't looking for recent changes but the info used when creating your account

Stuff you and only you should.know

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Brian

I don’t like to give bad news, but no one at Microsoft except the recovery team can send password reset links / modify or change account details.

You may want to check this statement here:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

If the recovery form is rejected, you can try some of the alternatives provided here

What privacy law say you absolutely can’t help? As far as I’ve seen this more of personal decision on Microsoft’s part to not help its customers no matter what.

Look up privacy laws in your region

No company can hand over an account if you aren't the owner

Therr are strict requirements for proof of ownership

They can't even tell you what you got wrong as that would give hints to would be phishers what to look up and fix

https://www.dol.gov/general/ppii#:~:text=Personal%20Identifiable%20Information%20(PII)%20is,either%20direct%20or%20indirect%20means.

Every government has strict laws concerning privacy you can look it up based on rrgion

Our commitment to privacy

We ground our privacy commitments in strong data governance practices, so you can trust that we’ll protect the privacy and confidentiality of your data and will only use it in a way that’s consistent with the reasons you provided it.

Thanks for the reply, Josepf. Unfortunate this doesn’t help me at all and mostly just reinforces my original inquiry on why Microsoft support doesn’t actually exist as they can’t actually help in any meaningful way besides be a tour guide on where to find instructions to do stuff ourselves.

Hi, the answer is in the first link that I shared
“To protect your account and its contents, our support agents and advocates are not allowed to send password reset links or access and change account details.

They cannot do more than you can do for yourself with the forms available from the website.”

Basically is due to security policies

The problem is I am the owner of the account. The verification system isn’t clearly define as what is required to get my information back. Neither link says why you can’t help just more of you won’t help or atleast give an alternative solution to proving I’m the owner of the account.

That’s the Microsoft link. The gov link says nothing about you can’t just that you should do your best to secure that information from being stolen. It doesn’t have guidance on how you should go about protecting that information. That means Microsoft is choosing this method of verification and isn’t willing to help it’s customers outside these guidelines they set.

Please keep in mind that our accounts is our responsibility
This applies to basically everywhere

This means that we are responsible to keep the information protected and updated.

I personally never had issues with my accounts, any of them. And my Microsoft account has more than 12 years since I created (and also other accounts)

I understand that you’re frustrated, but I as a regular user like you, I can only give you this information.
If you feel that Microsoft should help you, please reach them one more time to see if maybe there is a different way to recover an account.

Our account is our responsibility. How am I to take responsibility for my account if I’m being denied access to it? If someone can deny access to it that means they have power over it which also makes them responsible. Thanks for reaching out but the question was aimed towards requesting help for this issue that many, many people have faced and continue to face. Blaming the user isn’t productive nor is it customer service also I have received no updates since creating this account to the changes of account recovery and why.
