Yes you can if you own the digital game under the account you are using or if you own the physical game disc in good condition.

Hello there.

There are two Black Ops game with backward compatibility: 1 & 2. Are you trying to play any of these two?.

Black Ops 3 was released also for Xbox 360, but also a Xbox One version came out, this game is not in the Official List of Available games for backward compatibility, thus is not supported, you need to get the Xbox One version of this game in order to play it.

Please share more information regarding what game are you trying to play.

To be able to play backward compatible games you will need to download some game files to the One S.

Of games was released on both the 360 and the One then it wont be backward compatible. As therenos already a version of the game available for the One.

That's not strictly true. The following games are available on both systems:

COD Ghosts

COD Advanced Warfare

Call of Duty 4 (Xbox One has a remastered version)

Gears of War.

There are probably some more, these are ones that spring to mind at the time of typing this.

As you can see, a game being on Xbox One does not mean the 360 version won't be made made BC.
