GTA:SA (PS2) took place in 1992. This game takes place in 2013 as far as I can tell. That's 21 years. And Los Santos is the GTA universe equivalent to Los Angeles. And Grove Street is a lower class neighborhood. Do the math.

Exactly. Lower class neighborhoods don't get renovated very often.

Unless one of the residents do it themselves. I noticed CJ's house is gone. If I'm remembering correctly CJ was living with his elderly mother in 1992. He probably kept the house up for as long as she was alive then sold it after she died. Then, it was torn down to make way for more development. That's the way the world works.

Honestly, CJ could be dead now. Or even 10 years ago. We'll never know.
