I fired up my Minesweeper game on my Windows 11 PC the other day (6/8/23 I think) to find that the game loader interface was completely changed. When I attempted to play Minesweeper Adventure it just loaded a white splash screen and would go no further (the other standard games seemed to play ok). I next downloaded Microsoft Treasure Hunt (because appears to be the same game) and find that it runs, but all of my progress (level 1900+) and tools (shields, maps, dynamite, picks, etc) are all gone and I'm reset to level 1. I have a paid subscription to this game (as well as Solitaire) and really miss being able to play it. Is there any way to get Minesweeper/Adventure and my existing game progress back? If not, is there any way to purchase an ad free version of the new Treasure Hunt game so I can start over? For me the ads make it unplayable. I've tried playing the new Treasure Hunt from level 1 but every few games I have to watch a 30 second ad for something I don't have any interest it. And the Treasure Hunt game, so far anyway, seems to place restrictions on the number of saved tools you can accumulate as you play (currently only allowed to have 2 of everything). Really frustrating changes that, for me, mean no more Minesweeper. What a shame, it was a really nice, simple game that I enjoyed playing.

We understand that you encountered issues while playing various games with achievements. As per description, your Minesweeper Adventure progress disappeared and that there are frustrating changes on some of the games.
First, to answer your question. how to get back existing progress on Minesweeper Adventure.
Open the Microsoft Store app.
Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the app.
Click on “Downloads and updates”.
Click on “Get updates”.
If there is an update available for Minesweeper/Adventure, click on “Update”.
Open Minesweeper/Adventure and check if your progress has been restored.
Second, to purchase an ad free version of the new Treasure Hunt game.
Unfortunately, there is no ad-free version of Treasure Hunt available for purchase at the moment. However, you can purchase an ad-free game experience in other Microsoft Casual Games such as Microsoft Solitaire Collection, Microsoft Jigsaw, Microsoft Mahjong, Mahjong by Microsoft (mobile), Microsoft Minesweeper, Microsoft Sudoku, and Microsoft Ultimate Word Games. Hi Geri, I tried your suggestions and there don't appear to be any updates for minesweeper. But the problem isn't that I've lost my progress, the problem is that Microsoft minesweeper/Adventure won't load any longer. All that happens is a white splash screen is displayed with no option to proceed. Here is a screen shot of the splash screen that is displayed. I have tried removing the app and re-installing it without any changes.

If Microsoft Minesweeper not working well, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Run the Microsoft Store Apps Troubleshooter and fix the problems with the Minesweeper and Jigsaw games.
Update Graphics Drivers.
Reinstall the Minesweeper application.
Run the Windows apps troubleshooter.
Check for updates.
You can run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter by following these steps:
Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
Select Windows Store Apps from the list, then click Run the troubleshooter.
You can also launch Windows Store Apps troubleshooter from Control Panel by pressing Windows + R, typing control panel, and pressing Enter to open Control Panel in Windows. Click the drop-down icon next to View by and select Small icons or Large icons. Then select Troubleshooting > View all > Windows Store Apps.
You can reinstall Microsoft Minesweeper app by following these steps:
Open the Microsoft Store app.
Search for “Microsoft Minesweeper” in the search bar.
Click on the “Microsoft Minesweeper” app from the search results.
Click on the “Install” button to reinstall the app.
If you have any issues with reinstalling the app, you can try running the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter by following the steps I provided earlier. If that doesn’t work, you can try resetting the Microsoft Store app by following these steps:
Press the Windows key + R to open Run.
Type “wsreset.exe” and press Enter.
Wait for the command prompt window to close automatically.
Open the Microsoft Store app and try reinstalling Microsoft Minesweeper again.

Hi Geri, thank you for the reply. I tried your suggestions but unfortunately wasn't able to correct the problem. I started with the game troubleshooting reset first and once I saw that that didn't work I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Both the reset and the re-install seemed to go properly but the problem remains. The standard minesweeper puzzles all work properly (including the daily challenge) but the Microsoft Minesweeper Adventure game won't load. When I try and load it I just get the white splash screen that I showed above and the game never loads. Also confirmed that the graphics drivers for my RTX3090 are up to date. This game has worked great for years until somehow an update was pushed overnight. The update uses a new game loader interface and is visually very different from the original (similar to the above splash screen). This was a great little game that I really enjoyed and had no problem paying paying the subscription for. I really hope that there is a fix for this!

I’m sorry to hear that the solution provided did not work well for you. Found another troubleshooting steps on fixing your issue with the Microsoft Minesweeper Adventure game.
Check for game updates in MS Store Hub (three dots at top right of Store app) > Downloads & Updates.
Run the MS Store apps troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
Try to Reset or Repair the game in Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > [Name of game] > Advanced Options > Reset or Repair.
Reinstall the Minesweeper application.
Run the app troubleshooter.

Hi Geri, thank you for your reply. I did try the reset/repair steps you recommended and I did uninstall and reinstall the game with no success. Whenever I try to load the Minesweeper / Adventure game all I get is the white splash screen pictured above with no further action. The other variations of the Minesweeper game all seem to work properly but not the Adventure mode.

I have had the same EXACT issue as Timbo562. I also tried all of the recommended fixes, updates, and re installs. I also have not made any progress in resolving the issue. So in early June 2023 I opened problem ticket 54292 with Microsoft Casual Games in an effort to resolve this. They requested a couple of zip files with instructions on what to capture in them, which I provided. I also provided a video of exactly what I see on my screen. It has been three full months, and no solution. They have asked me multiple times to be patient, and even asked me to close the ticket and wait for a update that fixes the problem. I have refused to close the ticket until it is fixed. Clearly this is not limited to just two people, it is a Microsoft issue that needs correction. Is there any escalation process on problem tickets?
