My xbox 360 will go open tray for hours and after reopening it will finaly read the game. It takes around 30 - 60 secends of reading for it to give up. However sometimes(rarely) it goes unreconized disc. The xbox 360 is 4 years old and original. The laser seems to make some swissing/swishing sound. Is it a dirty laser lens because I have never cleaned it in all these years. What are signs of a dirty laser and not some other problem.

What Are The Signs Of A Dirty Laser Lens?

The signs of a dirty/faulty laser is it takes a while to read a disc and when it does it says its a DVD. It wont read. It'll spin up for 2 seconds and stop. Anything along those lines are signs of a dirty/faulty laser.

In terms of your disc drive being incapable of reading the disc, I suggest you take a look at the Disc Drive Solution page and follow some of the steps on there! Based on the answers you give, will depend on the solution you are given of which will be relevant to your issue!
