VRR Gsync / AMD Freesync Premium

Hello, I can't find a proper answer anywhere so I ask it here:

I own a LG C1 Oled and a Xbox Series X and play with game optimizer mode.

What option in game optimizer in my TV should I turn on, VRR Gsync or AMD Freesync Premium?

In the Xbox menu VRR is enable.

I know the Xbox has an AMD graphics processor, so AMD Freesync seems more obvious.

Or can I just enable both and the TV picks the right one?

Thanks!

Danny from the Netherlands.

Hello Haander! I'm Claus, an Independent Microsoft Community Consultant for Xbox! Glad to be able to help you!

The recommended option for your Xbox Series X and your TV is the AMD FreeSync Premium mode. That one will allow you to play with FreeSync (also known as Variable Refresh Rate -VRR) and HDR10 at the same time, which is the most optimal way to play all new games on your console! NVIDIA G-Sync will only work with NVIDIA Graphics Cards (GPUs) from PCs, so it won't be compatible with any Xbox consoles.

From how understand it:

VRR - proprietry HDMI - 2.1 standard

Fressync - AMDs version of variable refresh rate

G-sync - Nvidias version of Variable refresh rate - will not wotk on an Xbox as it has an AMD chip, this is for people who use the C1 as a monitor and have a PC with NVidia GPU.

so on the Xbox just leave both options on and the Xbox will select AMD Freesync.

I left VRR on. But when choosing AMD Freesync, three options are provided: high, wide, off. I left "high", because it feels like the picture is getting smoother, but maybe it's autosuggestion already))

I haven't been able to find a scientific/official explanation of the difference between "high" and "wide" for setting up AMD Freesync, so it's bugging me.

And sorry for my English)
