It's very unlikely that they will provide a VR option on the Xbox One. As for next generation, they simply have not put out enough information to say if any headsets will be compatible or not, and any statement otherwise, until we have more information, is speculation.
As for VR options, I personally haven't tried a PS VR, but I would recommend checking out other options. Such as, if you have a Windows 10 PC, there are VR options that would be much cheaper, labeled Windows Mixed Reality and they have a lot of headsets on their store that don't require a lot of extra sensors set up. I have also heard good things about the Oculus Quest which does not require a PC and can be used stand-alone.
Hope this helps.

Starting to see an awful lot of these questions. Not sure why to be honest. V.R., especially on console, isn't exactly great, and a waste of resources in my opinion.
Pc is one thing, where you can have as much power as you can afford, but that's not really the console market.
But that's only my opinion

PSVR is cool, if you're primarily an Xbox/PC gamer I wouldn't recommend just buying a PlayStation for VR seeing as how the purchase of a whole new console for one type of game may not be the best investment. Xbox could have a VR set coming out in the future, seeing as how Microsoft is partnered with a lot of VR companies for Windows. But there's also the Microsoft HoloLens AR/VR headset that's in development that is actually compatible for Windows and Xbox.
I would recommend waiting, doing some research, and maybe upgrading to PC for VR if you have a good PC because the experience there would be 1000 times better than anywhere else just because of the sheer power of PCs these days.
I'll drop this here too because its neat.
