So today I decided to update my BIOS on my motherboard (added some features, mainly resizable bar since the firmware was October 2021).
Update went smoothly, but afterwards Starfield will not launch, it tries to sign into Live but throws the 0x80004005 error.
Troubleshooting for hours I have tried the following:
Reset Xbox App
MSRESET (multiple times)
Uninstall Xbox and Xbox Live apps, resetting the data for the store and the apps, deleting the appdata relevant to xbox and temp data folders
Regedit clearing folders
Uninstalling and reinstalling Starfield twice
Even going so far as a Windows repair install.
The only thing that has showed any promise is creating a local account on my PC and then installing the Xbox app and running Starfield, and it runs perfectly fine. (logged in with the same credentials as the Microsoft account)
All other games on GamePass work perfectly fine.
Anyone know of a way to clear all the account data for xbox and related stuff and star fresh?
I really don't want to waste a week doing a full wipe and reinstall of my system just to play Starfield...
Definitely tempted to drop gamepass and just buy Starfield on Steam...
