Skylanders online

I looked it up to see if the servers were still even up and it looked like the official website had been updated recently because the copyright date was for this year (2019). My searches were vague though, I'm going to assume that there probably are still some people who play Skylanders but it doesn't look to be a whole lot if at all. The last set was the Imaginators set and it was released in 2016 it looks like?

As far as a new game goes, that.s also up in the air. Who knows? I saw there was a trailer for Skylanders: Ring of Heroes posted to IGN about 4 months ago but that was about it. I looked it up and it was a mobile game? I don't know, it was all a sort of confusing and unproductive search effort.

There's a bunch of Skylander's available on XB1.

As to why there isn't a new one out - they over saturated the market with Toy 2 Life.  Made too many toys for the games too, too many games, etc. Just got too expensive and annoying to collect them.

Much like the Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Rock Band days, the market got overcrowded with Skylanders, Lego Dimensions and the Disney one. Along with that, most parents stopped buying them when games came out each year and they had to get new Skylander characters to play as.

I was a collector of Skylanders and I had pretty much all of them, even went onto eBay and bought the Scarlet Ningenie, which cost me about $50. All in all, I spent about 2-3k on the characters.
