Screen dimming timer

How do you turn off the stupid screen dimmer? Its so annoying trying to watch netflix, hulu, anything and the screen getting dark every hour. An hr is the longest option available, like why not an option that it doesn't dim at all? Get it together xbox! I've been team xbox since the original xbox first dropped, same account name thru the generations of xbox consoles never a problem that i couldn't figure out, i can't figure this one out and its very frustrating!
Go to settings, select preferences, and hit idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

Unchecking the "show me things when Idle" won't turn off screen dimming. There should be an option for 'Never' in the Screen dimming settings, but I don't see why you wouldn't want it to be active. It helps prevent your TV's pixels from burning out for displaying the same light over long periods of time. It's simple enough to just move a stick on your controller to get the screen dimming to go away every hour so I've never really had much issue with it.

Why would i want it dimmed while im using it is the real question? If i had it on a menu or home screen for an extended time sure dimming it is a great idea. While im trying to watch a program, any program longer than an hour, im supposed to turn on the controller and "move a stick on my controller" EVERY HOUR? Thats dumb! Netflix has a "are you still watching?" And the screen will dim, how bout xbox tail on with the idea? There is no never option.
