Outdated servers

Hi, when playing minecraft i try to join my friend’s game but it says that the server is outdated? What do i do? What does it mean?

What device do you use to play Minecraft and is your game fully updated? Do both of you have Minecraft (bedrock edition) with the Better Together update that allows cross play?

Are both of you using the same type of device?

What happens if your friend tries to join your game?

Give us some more detailed information and we'd be happy to help you solve this.

There was the Pillagers update today, I recommend that you both make sure you have any updates downloaded as this would prevent you playing with one another if you're on different versions.
