No headset will work on Xbox One

I am having a very frustrating issue with my Xbox One. I have now bought 3 new controllers and 4 new headsets and none of them will work on my Xbox. I have tested all of these in every combination on a friend's console and they work perfectly. The odd thing is, if I use regular headphones without a mic, I can hear everything fine (gameplay, other players chatting, movies etc.). I play exclusively online, so this is getting frustrating to the point where I'm thinking of making the switch to PS4. 

Any help will be greatly appreciated. And yes, I've done all of the basic options, checked all of my settings, even had Xbox support on the phone trying to help fix it. This is not a basic fix. 

Look into updating the firmware on your controller as I believe there was a recent update

Is this a really recent update? I checked a couple months ago and said my firmware was up to date.

    Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this issue with the headset not connecting to the console, as the Ambassador has suggested, have you tried to update the firmware on your controllers? Additionally, have you tried to Factory Reset the console to ensure that whatever might be interfering with the consoles ability to connect with the headset is resolved?

    If not, I would suggest trying a Soft Factory Reset of the console itself. You may also want to try and update the console if the console is not update to date. If you have any other questions please feel free to reply back letting us know.

Yes I have done the factory reset, with the Microsoft rep on the phone, as well as my system is up to date. As I noted in my posted, I have tried everything that I can google on my own and find as well as what the Microsoft rep could think of. This is not an isolated issue, there are thousands of posts about this issue.

Thanks for the update on the issue. I recommend trying the following articles: 

   

If the problem persists, I recommend to try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues. To help clarify, What headsets are you trying to use? Have you checked the network ports for Xbox Live servers?
