My xbox game bar no longer opens with windows+g and I do not recieve invitations. How to fix?

I wasn't receiving invitations through xbox game bar so looked online to fix. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/i-dont-get-party-invites-on-my-xbox-game-bar/22339641-b32c-4f0c-990d-d86ab859954c#:~:text=Open%20the%20Settings%20app%20and%20go%20to%20the%20Gaming%20section.&text=Open%20the%20Xbox%20Companion%20App,and%20enable%20Party%20%26%20game%20invitations.

After using this persons advice, not only did I sill not get invites, but my xbox game bar no longer works when trying to open with windows+g? Someone attempted to help me, removing gaming services and reinstalling using powershell but that didn't do anything. Not sure what to do. Anyone got a similar issue?

Hello Jake M, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you. Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems. I am very sorry for the problem you are experiencing, I invite you to follow the following steps recommended by Microsoft Support: If nothing happens when you press Windows logo key + G, check your Game Bar settings. Open the Start menu and select Settings > Game Bar > Games and make sure Enable Game Bar for things like recording game clips, chatting with friends, and receiving game invites is set to On. If the Game Bar doesn't appear for a full-screen game, try keyboard shortcuts: Press the Windows logo key + Alt + R to start recording a clip, then press it again to stop. You will see the screen flash as the recording starts and ends. Hi Oskayra, thanks for the response. I have game bar enabled and it is unfortunately not working. Windows + g worked for ages until I copied this command into powershell because I was told that would help with my issue of not receiving party invites:
get-appxpackage *gamingoverlay* | remove-appxpackage
Ever since ive done that I still don't receive invites but windows + g is not working. I have tried changing the shortcut to something else but this has not worked either. Maybe the command deleted my ability for the shortcut to work?
Thanks so much for helping me, i'm sure there is an easy fix i'm not seeing.

Try the following Xbox recommended methods: Make sure you have the latest updates installed on your Windows device. Press the Home button  and then Settings. Go to Update & Security (Windows Update in Windows 11) and select Check for updates. Check your Game Bar settings. Press the Home button , and then choose Settings. Go to Games > Game Bar, then turn on Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast with Game bar. While playing a game, press the Windows logo key  + G to open Game Bar. Select Enable gaming features for this app to record your gameplay when you try to use gaming features, such as streaming or capturing. The game could be running in full screen mode. See “How do I record a game when it is in full screen mode?” former. Make sure you updated your graphics drivers. Consultation: Hardware requirements to take screenshots in Windows; https://support.xbox.com/help/friends-social-activity/share-socialize/pc-hardware-requirements-for-capturing Try choosing another display option for your game, such as borderless windows. The game could be blocking custom keyboard shortcuts. See “Why aren't my Game Bar keyboard shortcuts working?” next. A small number of PCs and accessories do not support the Windows logo key. Check your device manufacturer's website for more information. If your keyboard doesn't have the Windows key, create a custom key combination to open Game Bar. Press the Home button , select Settings > Games > Game bar, and then select Settings > Games > Game bar. then, create a key combination.
