Minecraft Realms Purchase Not Working

I have been trying to purchase Minecraft Realms to play with others but it keeps bringing up "You Need Permission" window. My account used to be connected to a family with my dad and it possibly used to be a child account but I tried going in and fixing that today. Note: I have had this account for years, back since 2013 or so when I was a kid and I have used it on Xbox and Minecraft in the past then. I am an adult (22) now however and I cannot figure out what is making it to where I cannot get Minecraft Realms.

I went in and removed myself from the family I was apart of. I made sure my DOB information was accurate too on Microsoft in case that affected it. And on my Xbox account I went in and changed my privacy settings and the settings it told me to on the help forms. I changed everything to "Allow" especially the ones involving multiplayer and creating or joining clubs. I am at a loss what to do next I am unsure how to fix my account at this point. Despite doing all of that I still cannot get Minecraft Realms. Maybe its because its still somehow a child account but I do not know how to fix that when I changed my DOB and exited my family.

Hello, Dasphirius. Thanks for reaching out. I'm Lucas, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be glad to help you out.

May I know if you are really an adult or you just changed your Microsoft account to be an adult? I ask because changing your Microsoft account birthdate does not change your Xbox profile birthdate.

If you are really an adult, please double check if you are not on any family group anymore and please let me know:

I couldn't find settings for DOB in Xbox, I am doing this from PC though. Can I access that info from my Xbox account on PC or do I need to on Xbox Console? And it shows in my family settings that it is only me, there are no other accounts on it.

Another thing I am wanting to know is if my Xbox account is even involved with my Minecraft Account or is it just Microsoft? I don't own Minecraft on Xbox or anything just PC, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile.

I have been researching and it only looks like my DOB can be changed from Microsoft. So what it is on Microsoft will be what it is on Xbox I believe as well. Just what I found online.

You cannot change or see your Xbox profile birthdate, unfortunately. Your Microsoft account birthdate can be changed but it does not take over to the Xbox profile birthdate. But did you change your Microsoft account birthdate to be 22 or you are actually 22 and you never changed it? I really need to know if you are a child or not so I can give you the proper advice here.

Your Xbox profile is part of your Microsoft account. You use your Microsoft account to access your Xbox profile. And games that need your Microsoft account will also use information from your Xbox profile (gamertag, privacy settings, etc...) even on other platforms (like PC, Playstation, etc...).

I am actually 22, yes. My DOB is accurate on my account. Originally it was off by one year, I'm not sure why. I think I accidentally clicked on 1998 instead of 1999 way back when I made it. It has been that way since 2013 or so, it is an old account and when I first made it then it was an account under 18. I always had 12/29/1998 be my DOB even back in 2013. I went in today and fixed the year to 1999 because it was off, it needed to 1999 not 1998 but like I said I think it was an error I made when I first made the account years ago. Regardless of it being in 1998 or in 1999 it I am over the 18 age limit and it should no longer be considered a child account. I haven't accessed my account much since I was younger so there have been all kinds of things that I needed to change. Like addresses and numbers and more personal info needed updated. I feel like the long gap in use or the age of the account somehow made it unusable I don't know. My boyfriend has the exact same issue with his account. Microsoft thinks it is a child account despite him being over 18. He did the same steps as me and it didn't fix it and he gets charged for Xbox game pass every month and he cannot cancel it because of the same issues I am having. We both have old accounts and I just wonder if something got messed up over the years.
