Minecraft New Launcher Install Failed (0xUnknownAppInstall)

Hi all,

I'm trying to install Minecraft's new launcher in order to continue playing Minecraft as normal, as well as updating Minecraft itself. However, when I try to install the new launcher, the error shown below is returned to me:

I've tried restarting my PC, carrying out the sfc /scannow command, repairing and resetting the microsoft store, but none of these options worked for me.

I'm at a loss as to why the launcher won't install but just returns this error. If there's anything else that I could try and haven't done yet, I would be grateful if someone could let me know. Anyone who has experienced this particular error code are also welcome to comment on any solutions or methods they tried to resolve the issue.

Having the same issues myself and I have tried installing the launcher directly from the xbox app included with the other atempts. I've sent troubleshooting reports to see if I can get a response there.

Edit: I uninstalled the Minecraft Launcher and reinstalled the Windows 7/8 version and its working fine now. I think it may be an issue with the launcher updating itself and having a capatability issue with either windows 10 or 11
