Hi, Lord Bismarck
I noticed that you encountered an issue when running an XBOX game that gives an error 0xc0000005 upon startup.
Have you tried the following two solutions?
Solution 1: Disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for the program.
Go to the "Start" menu or use the shortcut [Windows] + [R] to open the "Run" dialog.
Type in "sysdm.cpl" and press [Enter] to open the system settings.
Switch to the "Advanced" tab, then click on the "Settings" button in the "Performance" section.
Go to the "Data Execution Prevention" tab, then select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
Click on "Add" and search for the .exe file of the problematic program.
Save the changes by clicking "Apply" and then "OK".
Solution 2: Disable the AppInit_DLLs mechanism in the Windows registry.
One possible solution to fix the 0xc0000005 error is to disable the AppInit_DLLs function, which allows loading of DLLs (Windows libraries) in any process running in user mode.
When the DLL being used can make more efficient use of memory, that's why the affected program loads faster and takes up less disk space.
However, sometimes the "AppInit_DLLs" entry can lead to problematic access conflicts.
If you have administrator privileges, you can disable this feature in the Windows registry.
Here's how you can do it: Open it by clicking the button with the same name in the "Start" menu or by using the [Windows] + [R] key combination to open the "Run" dialog.
Type "regedit" and then press [Enter]. After opening the registry editor, look for the following entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Here
You will find the "LoadAppInit_DLLs" entry, double-click it and change the assigned value to "0".
Disclaimer: Modifying the registry or workgroup is usually for advanced users, administrators, and IT professionals. It can help fix some issues, but improper registry modifications can lead to serious problems. To further protect yourself, make sure to backup the registry before making any changes. Looking forward to your issue getting resolved soon.
