Getting the error “game clip upload to OneDrive failed” on my Xbox series x

This problem has been going on since yesterday for me and I know that it’s not my internet, not my space since I have 50gb of space left. And there is ZERO solution on the internet about this issue and I don’t think I’m the the only one with this problem.

Hi Alexander,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues uploading your game clips in OneDrive. To ensure that your settings are properly configured, please follow the instructions below.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide
Select Profile & system > Settings > Preferences
Select Capture & share > Allow game captures

If it's still not working, please completely logoff from your Xbox by pressing the Xbox button, select Profile & system, and then select Sign out to sign out and back in.

In addition, please ensure that your privacy settings to upload on Xbox live is configured properly. Here are the steps:

Log in to Xbox Settings and sign in your account.
In the navigation tabs, click Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety
Select Allow for You can upload captures to Xbox Live
Click Submit.

Regards,
Alvaro

Hi Alvaro, I’ve done all of these and they still have no effect. I forgot to mention that I’m using a game drive for long game clips so OneDrive is the only way to export my game clip.

Thank you for the update. For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried to completely uninstall your Onedrive and logging out from it? In addition, you may also try to upload a game clip directly from your internal hard drive just to see if you will get the same error.

Please note that this is a public forum, I will be responding you in short period of time and regret for a delay in response. As I am merely a fellow user trying to provide insight and information that may be helpful to others

Regards,
Alvaro

Thank you for the update, Alexander. Since most of the troubleshooting steps were made but none of them worked on your situation, I would recommend that you try to restore your console to factory defaults.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.
Select Reset console.
On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

Reset and remove everything.
This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all installed content will be deleted. Use this option when selling or gifting the console, or as a last resort in some troubleshooting cases.

Reset and keep my games & apps.
Use this option as your primary choice when troubleshooting. It resets the OS and deletes all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. In some cases, if a corrupt game file is causing the issue you're troubleshooting, you may have to choose Reset and remove everything, but you should always start with Reset and keep my games & apps.

Regards,
Alvaro

Didint work, I tried reset my games and apps and nothing changed all it did was get rid of my clips from my game drive and internal storage. And I don’t plan on doing the other option cause it’s gonna take time to get all my games and stuff.

Thanks for the update. I understand. Take your time, once you're ready, you may perform the "Reset and remove everything".

Hi so I found out that when u have automatic uploads on for OneDrive on the Xbox settings it will automatically upload my game clip, so that’s what I’ve been going off so far. I do hope that I can manually upload the game clip like how I used to do, hopefully Xbox can fix this. But thank you for all the help you gave me.
