Fortnite keeps crashing on new xbox x

Each time i load battle royale it crashes the game. This is a brand new xbox x. I have reinstalled the game and also changed account and none of it solved the issue.

Hello Stuart P, my name is Oskayra, and I will be happy to help you. Beforehand, it is important that you keep in mind that this is a public community forum, so we are players like you, we are not employees of Microsoft or Xbox, so we do not have access to any user account or check anything from the forum. All users help each other with common problems. I am very sorry for the problem you are going through, with the intention of being able to help you I did an internal search on the Microsoft forum and found a publication by Gerardo C., an independent advisor, where he suggests the following steps to solve the problem: Please, to rule out that the problem is in the console, try to solve the problem by doing the following procedures: 1. With the Xbox on, press the power button on the front of the console for 10 seconds until it turns off completely. 2. Unplug the power cord from the console and wait 30 seconds. 3. Reconnect the power cable to your console and turn it on normally. 4. Check if the problem persists, if so, please reset your console to its factory settings, keeping your games and applications as follows: Go to Settings > System > Console Info > Reset Console > Reset and keep games and apps. This way your console will be reconfigured and you will have to add your account again. No game or application will be deleted, nor will you lose the progress of any game since these are saved in the Xbox Cloud. 5. Check if the problem persists. I will be attentive to your response. Blessings. Sincerely, Oskayra.

Hi,

This did not work. I had tried these beforehand too. But i followed the instructions exactly once again and each time of checking the game crashes on start up.

I am wondering if i need to return the console to the shop, and if this is a common fault with the Xbox series X.

So dissapointing as this is a gift and it does not work as it should.

Many thanks for your help so far.

If anyonr knows of anything elss i should try before sending it back to where i bought it from then please get in touch.

Sometimes a problem with the network connection can affect the game. This is how you can test your connection to Xbox: Press the Xbox  button to open the guide. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network options. Note: Network outages will appear in Current Network Status. On the Network Settings screen, select Test network connection. If the connection test is successful, the console will connect to the Xbox service. Note: If you are prompted to update your console software, select Yes. Solution 2: Sometimes the game may be affected because the profile data is corrupted on your Xbox console. To check if this is the case for you, try playing the same game with a different profile on your console. Press the Xbox  button to open the guide. Select Profile & system, and then select Add or change. Select a different profile than the one you were using previously. If you don't have another profile set up on your Xbox, you can create a new profile just for testing, or you can ask a friend to upload their profile to your console to test the game for you. Now restart the game to see if it works correctly with another profile. If you can play the title with another profile, go to the next step: Remove and re-add your profile. Solution 3: If the Xbox console profile is causing the gaming issue, the game profile data may be corrupted. You can correct this problem by removing this profile from the console and downloading it again. To remove your profile: Press the Xbox  button to open the guide. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account you want to remove (the one with the game problem), then select Remove. Now, download the profile again to create a new version of your profile data: Press the Xbox  button to open the guide. Select Profile & System, choose Add or Change, and then select Add New. Enter the email address and password you use to access your Microsoft account (the same account you just removed). Important: Make sure you don't select Get a new account unless you really want to. If you select Get a new account, a completely new Microsoft account will be created. Follow the prompts as the console guides you through account setup steps, such as privacy information, sign-in, and color preferences, until you return to the Home screen. Once you've completed the process of recreating your profile on your Xbox console and returned to the home screen, try playing the title again. If this step did not solve the problem, continue with the next step. Solution 4: The game's local save may have been corrupted. In this case, deleting the local save settings and re-syncing with the cloud may resolve the issue. First, delete the locally saved data: Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then select My games & apps > See all > Games. Select the game, then press the Menu  button on your controller. Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data. Select Delete All to delete local saved game data, then follow the prompts. After deleting local saved game data, restart your Xbox: Press and hold the Xbox  button in the center of the controller. Select Restart console, then follow the prompts. After restarting your Xbox, sync your saved games to the cloud again. Saved games are automatically stored in the cloud while you're connected to the Xbox service. Try accessing the game again to see if syncing with the cloud again resolved the game issue. If none of these steps resolved the problem, the problem is most likely with the game itself. And it is advisable to contact the game developer and expose the flaw. Information Source (Credits): https://support.xbox.com/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/game-issues-solution
