Elite Series 2 controller and Destiny 2

Is anyone else having an issue when playing Destiny 2 and using the Xbox Companion app to stream to pc, with regards to the vibrations no longer occurring on the Elite series 2 controller?

Hi Fa1con87,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help.

Does the controller experience this behavior on both the Xbox One console and a Windows 10 PC? While streaming using the app, and also while not streaming?

Does the controller exhibit this behavior while plugged in via the cable provided and also wireless?

In the Xbox Accessories app, when selecting the Vibration test, does the vibration feel at full percent when at 100%?

Have you updated the controller's firmware in the Xbox Accessories app with the provided cable?

Does this only happen while playing Destiny 2 or any other game?

Does the game have any vibration settings?

Answer those questions for us so we have a better idea about the issue you are experiencing.

Best Wishes,

Dear Fa1con87,

Chexk the folllowing steps.

  1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then select System > Settings.
  2. Select Ease of Access > Controller, and then select Vibration settings.
  3. Choose the controller you want to change and select Configure.
    • For an Elite or Elite Series 2, select the configuration profile you want to change, select Edit > Vibration, and then move the sliders to adjust the vibration.
    • For an Xbox Wireless Controller, select Turn on vibration to turn vibration on or off.                   Happy Gaming

When the E2 is plugged into the PC or wireless to PC it works like normal and all games played through Xbox Beta App vibrate normally.

When the E2 is connected to the Xbox wireless or cable and i use the streaming app all other games work normally that i have tested. It appears to only be destiny that is stopping the vibration when streaming.

I have turned the vibration settings on and off in game but still nothing changes. The firmware on the E2 is 4.8.1908.0 which is the most recent on the system.

Hi Fa1con87,

Thanks for the information. So it seems that it's a unique issue to only Destiny 2 while being streamed from your Xbox. Have you done any console troubleshooting? In order to rule out the console's performance, I recommend doing some basic Xbox One troubleshooting.

Go ahead and do a hard restart and power cycle to the console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before turning on the Xbox.

If that doesn't help then you will need to try out a soft factory reset.
  1. Press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide.
  2. Scroll to the right and select System > Settings > System > Console info.
  3. Select Reset console

Make sure to select "Keep my games & apps" and have the correct account login information plus your Wi-Fi password ready if you connect wireless because you will need to re-add the account's that were on the Xbox and re-connect to your network during the reset.

Lastly, if neither solution helps then try re-installing the game onto your Xbox and see if that helps. Let us know the results!

Ok, so i tried all this and still nothing.

What i notice though is when i press start streaming on the PC, there is a noticeable slow down as if the stream is thinking and then after 2 seconds it becomes normal speed and there's no vibrations.

Have there been any other reports of this happening?

Is anyone else having an issue when playing Destiny 2 and using the Xbox Companion app to stream to pc, with regards to the vibrations no longer occurring on the Elite series 2 controller?

I've got a similar issue. I don't stream, i just play D2 on my xbox one and I've noticed that the controller will frequently stop providing vibration feedback while playing, even when the controller is fully charged. Firmware is the latest version, console is updated, vibration settings are maxed in the controller settings and turned on in game.

Outside of the game, the vibration works as it should 100% of the time so far. But it's inconsistent in-game. It'll just stop providing feedback, usually for hours at a time.
