EA App will not install on latest build of Windows 11

Fails every time with:

"There was a problem starting

C:\Windows\Installer\MSICED1.tmp

C:\Windows\Installer\MSICED1.tmp is not a valid Win32

application."

Windows is fully updated. Graphics drivers are fully updated. I tried the installer on multiple machines, all give the same error (just the filename MSXXXX.tmp changes slightly each time).

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community.
My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor

Hope you're doing great today despite this RDA1074

I can suggest you some things just to cover everything from the Windows side, but if the issue persist you may need to reach EA support
https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/

A. Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily
Restart the PC and try again

B. Do a clean boot in your PC and try again
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t...

C. I'm thinking couple options more:

1. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, in case it is the one causing conflicts
(Don’t forget to disable automatic updates temporarily)

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

D. If you have antivirus (including Windows defender), firewall, system optimizer or similar software installed please turn off all the protections temporarily, restart the PC and try again

E. Create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there

I figured it out - when attempting to install to a drive OTHER than where Windows is installed, the installation fails.

It MUST be installed on the same drive (C: in my case).

EA Support is terribly slow and unresponsive. I was about to give up until I tried another system with only a single drive.

Thank you for the advice - I did try all those things (and more). My boot drive is ultra fast, but also of very small capacity which is why I did not attempt installing to C: (oof!) lol.
