Connect xbox360 controller to Windows 10 PC

Hi All

I have tried to connect an old xbox 360 controller to my windows 10 PC with no luck.

I have tried to find a driver for windows 10 but it seems that it's only available up to windows 7.

Does anybody know if it is possible to connect my controller and how can I do it?

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. First things first, id like you to check for any possible updates on your windows 10 device.

Press the Windows button on your device or keyboard, or select the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of the main screen. Select Settings, and then select Update & Security. On the Windows Update tab, select Check now to see if any updates are available for your device.

if its wired then the computer should find the driver ok

your pc shoul be able to read the controller, i don't know for sure on windows 10, but back in the day when i had windows 8 i played a lo of games on it using a 360 controller and an adapter to use it wireless

Hi,

The previous replies aren't quite correct.  If you have wired 360 controller it will work straight away.

If you've got a wireless controller, then you'll need the 360 gaming receiver for Windows.  The play and charge for 360 can not send data, it only charges the controller. You can't turn 360 wireless controllers to wired controllers.
