Concern over your 'Ambassador' programme.

I really enjoy the Fallout rillogy and a rather strange and upsetting issue arose during the course of my gaming and interacting with a 'Mod' group on Xbox.  Someone asked a question as something unpleasant took place concerning this particular member.  Being an adult I am always cautious dont accept friends etc. I just enjoy Modding and building in the Fallout universe, thats it.  Anyhow this person had been scammed and was warning players and stated the gamers I gamername etc, not the done thing and something I never usually become embroiled in, but I told them how to report the person etc and that was that. An 'ambassador' then asked for additional info. so he could report the matter on this gamers behalf...

Later on I spoke with the guy whom was being accused of scamming and it transpires that this poor guy had some kind of fallout with the accuser, so the report the ambassidor made, not being aware of the full facts was a bit hasty in my opinion and the guy accused of scamming is naturally concerned indeed.  Now, this ambassados profile is always offline, dont ambassadors help people, gamers? If so how if their profiles are offline yet they are in actuality on and postiing?  Now, I sent this 'ambassador' a quick message stating I had information they need to be made aware of concerning the guy being accused of scamming... I wasn't expecting a drop everythin, deal with this now sort of thing, but this ''ambassador' was outright rude!   I'm. an adult, a mother of teen girls and I am being spoken to in a rude, obtuse manner by some ill mannered kid that is purporting to be the helpfull face of Xbox! I went and reported them immediately via their online profile.  Then the 'ambassador' tried to appologise to me when I said to them, 'Excuse me your not talking to a kid here but an adult, old enough to be your mother!  My giirls dont use that 'tone' with me I will be hard pressed to take it from a relative stranger and especially your appointed ambassador.  The way I construed it is bullying!  If they spoke to a child or teen in that manner I consrue it as bullying.  You are giving 'minors' the right to rule, bully, control by dint you have given them a title and role without adequate supervision is dangerous.  I have read some of the complaints against your 'ambassadors' and as a parent and adult I am deeply concerned.

As long as you reported them, the enforcement team will investigate them and take the appropriate action. If they are given a suspension, they will be removed from the program as well.

Unfortunately as the Ambassador program is just a volunteer program for fellow gamers, there are some bad apples out there, but in general the program is meant to help other gamers and create a positive community.

Thank you for your concern Angela Thompson, I am sorry that this has happened to you. The ambassador program is a voluntary service which  valued members take their time and effort to help the xbox community, however we do sometimes find bad apples just as in any profession. Unfortunately we have Ambassadors who are not at the best interest in Xbox and Microsoft community. We have a great number of professional individuals who can help and continue to help the community. I am sorry that this has happened . I am sure the individual will be investigated and some type of corrective  action will take place. One of our missions is to promote a toxic free safe and friendly community. Xbox Ambassadors positively transform gaming culture by sharing good vibes throughout the community. We sign a pledge that  represents our willingness to be a community steward through inclusive action that creates welcoming spaces everyone can enjoy. Xbox Ambassador  ensure that title continues to represent the mission to make gaming fun for everyone. Just like anyone else you can report this individual and I advise you to do it. Please look at this link for support with that issue.

Please look at the enforcement page also https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US

I hope you continue to be a valued member of our great community. Unfortunately the groups on xbox are free to join however like anything else its better to not engage with the individual in a case like that. Just report the individual and like anything else it will be investigated, Even though this is a purely voluntary service most of us care deeply what happens to our community and do the best job to assist or find help for that individual if we are not able to answer that individuals  question, you can be assured that one of our other Ambassadors will assist.

Just because someone says that they are an Ambassador that doesn't mean they are.  If they really were an Ambassador, they would have a special badge on their Xbox profile. It will be a greenish symbol of a controller that has leaves around it.  If their profile doesn't have that then I doubt they are really one of us.  The block and report feature is the best way to deal with people who violate the Code of Conduct.. Unless this person who claimed to be an Ambassador was in the game, then they shouldn't be reporting individuals.  The report should come from the people that were involved.  Regarding the "offline" statement, the gamer probably has their privacy settings so that only friends can see when they are online.  I have the same setting because I don't like random people knowing when I am online.  If they were indeed a kid, like you said, then they shouldn't be in the Ambassadors because we have an age restriction to join.  The purpose of the Ambassadors is to promote a safe and friendly gaming environment.  If this person was indeed an Ambassador and violated the Code of Conduct, which we are supposed to uphold, then you were right to report them.  Regardless of  this person being or not being an Ambassador, I am sorry that you had to deal with any of this.  You should be able to play a game without worrying about if someone is going to harass or bully you.  I for one take my Ambassador responsibilities serious and love representing the Xbox/Microsoft brand, but have to say that I am a little concerned if there are complaints against us.  Granted we are people also and can make mistakes but we are supposed to help others.  Once again sorry for your situation and I wish you good luck in your future gaming.

You can check the individual profiles of people who are ambassadors on Xbox. We have symbols on our profile.

Also, Xbox Ambassadors do not have the authority to do anything a regular player can't do.

It's merely volunteer.

No gods or kings, only men.

In my own personal opinion, I think Xbox needs to more selective in choosing their ambassadors. That being said, no matter how selective your selection process is, the FBI comes to mind, you're going to have some people that should never have been chosen as Ambassadors, their people skills are nonexistent. I myself have had issues with a Ambassador throughing his weight around but these are the exceptions. Since becoming an ambassador I've made sure to be the kind of Ambassador, I believe I should be a representative of Xbox, keeping in mind that my actions reflect on Xbox good and bad. I'm a Marine always will be and because of this I don't do anything halfway or halfbutt. If you what I mean.🤙

I'm going to go ahead and lock this to prevent further repetitive answers, but please feel free to create a new account if you need further assistance.

To clarify one thing that was mentioned, not all Ambassadors will have an Ambassador badge as that can be turned off. But with or without the badge, it's best to report anyone acting in that manner.
