Change XBOX Live account to login to Epic Games account

My son used my Xbox Live account to link to his Epic Games account. When we purchased a second Xbox One for my son we logged into his Xbox Live account and tried to link to his Epic Games account it said it was already linked to another account, mine. So we unlinked my account Xbox Live account from his Epic Games account and tried to link his Xbox Live to his Epic Games account but, its not possible.

So, I thought I would just give him my Xbox Live account since it's associated with his Epic Games account by changing the login email on my Xbox Live account from mine to his. Then I would change his Xbox Live account to mine.  But, before I go and do this I want to make sure I'm not just creating a new set of problems.

Both accounts have purchased games and Xbox Gold that I don't want to lose.

Thanks for your post. In regard to connecting another Xbox Live profile to your Epic Games account, you'll want to contact Epic Games Support.

It will be better if you contact Epic support for this issue or post in their support forums. Keep in mind you can change the email associated with an account yet you can't transfer items among them.

If you are just changing the email then it should not be a problem. My suggestion would be to use an email account that is not associated with either because you could run into a problem changing them with one being associated with another account already.

Hi there, 

As mentioned above i would highly suggest you reach out to epic support, in regards to linking his account on xbox to epic. 

Alternatively you may certainly change the email associated with the account. As mentioned above to keep in mind you won't be able to transfers items and games across accounts. I think your best bet is to reach out to epic support as perhaps they might be able to see what the issue is with linking his account.
