I've been trying to change a game (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6) installation folder on Xbox App PC from D: to C: drive but it says I need more space to install the game, even though it requires 49.92 GB and I have 205 GB available.

Hi, BernardoKaufmann.
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.
From your description and the pictures you provided, I understand that you encountered a problem when installing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. I understand your confusion about this problem.
The known issues released in October mentioned the problem you are currently experiencing.

This is due to a small UI error that the Xbox engineering team is actively investigating. After the installation is initialized, the exact installation size will be listed under the download progress bar.
I think this may require you to report this issue to the game's official website and the Xbox team. The more reports, the more likely it is to attract the attention of the Xbox team.

Hi, omar adel4.
Thanks for your reply.
The error message mentions "File Permission Denied", which indicates that you may not be able to move files from one drive to another due to the access permissions set for the file or folder. You can try the following steps to fix the permissions issue:
1. Right-click the game folder (on the HDD) and select "Properties".
2. Switch to the "Security" tab.
3. Click "Edit", then select your own username and make sure to grant full control permissions.
4. Click "Apply" and confirm the changes.
Then try to move the files to the SSD to see if the problem is solved.
Sometimes there may be some problems with the SSD itself, such as file system corruption or poor SSD health. You can use Windows' "Disk Management Tool" to check the SSD's file system format and make sure it is NTFS. If the format is correct and the SSD is healthy, you can try to reformat the SSD (please back up important data first).
1. Right-click "This PC" and select "Manage".
2. Go to Disk Management and check if the SSD is correctly formatted and healthy.
To change folder permissions using PowerShell commands, you can try the following steps:
1.Open PowerShell:
Type "PowerShell" in the Windows search bar.
Right-click "Windows PowerShell" and select "Run as Administrator".
2.Use takeown command to take ownership:
Enter the following command, replacing C:\Path\To\Folder with the path to the folder you want to change:
takeown /F "C:\Path\To\Folder" /R /D Y
This command will take ownership of the folder and its subfolders.
3.Use icacls command to change permissions:
Enter the following command, replacing C:\Path\To\Folder with the path to the folder you want to change:
icacls "C:\Path\To\Folder" /grant YourUsername:F /T
Replace YourUsername with your Windows username.
This command will grant you full control of the folder and its subfolders.
Disclaimer:Be careful when using these commands, as incorrectly changing permissions on system folders can cause system problems. Make sure to back up important data and use these commands only on non-system folders.
Best Regards.
