Can you check if a code has been redeemed or not, without actually redeeming it?

I want to give my cousin a xbox live gold code, but i really have no idea if i used it or not. You might be asking how i forgot. I really don't know. I want to check if it is used or not before giving them the code. How do i do this?

Just go to redeem code and input the code. It will tell you what the code is for, but you don't have to actually use the code.

Yes you can, check it out at redeem.microsoft.com and there will be a page showing what it is if it is still valid and will ask you to confirm if you want to redeem it. At that point just hit no.
