Can I trade game disks for digital copies?

I have an ongoing issue with my xbox one console where it will play blue rays, dvds and xbox one games on disks, but for some reason will not read any 360 disks. I have quite a few great last gen games I would like to play again but can't afford to buy digital copies of them all. I've had support try to help me resolve the reading issue to no avail. So my question is, how can I trade my owned disks for digital downloads instead?
unfortunately you can't. you'll have to buy the digital versions.

Hi!

Unfortunately, the licenses are not exchangeable and you will have to buy the game license again (in your digital case). This is because the physical copy may be resold.

As said no . I would hope in the future that games from shops would be like a empty case with a code ,for the collector,  and so it would be digital.  Who knows 👍

Unfortunately there's not even the option to do a digital licence trade, the only real option you'd have is to trade your physical disks in at a shop that allows such things, get a small cut of the money, and then try getting the game you want.

As the others already said, you can't exchange discs for digital copies.

HOWEVER: No matter how damaged the disc is, the Xbox One only has to be able to read the small security sector of the Xbox 360 game disc, and has to download the "translated" version for Xbox backwards compatibility from the digital store anyways.

No actual game data is ever read from the Xbox 360 disc. Only a very small security sector of the Xbox 360 disc to prove that you have the original disc. The actual game is running from the digital download.

So try the following:

Eject the Xbox 360 disc from the console and press the power button on the console for 10 seconds.

Turn the console back on, and make sure it shows a green boot up screen.

While the console boots up, take your Xbox 360 disc to the kitchen.

Even if the disc looks clean, apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap on the silver side of the disc.

Wet your fingers and "massage" the soap around the silver side in spiraling motions.

From now on, hold the disc with your index finger in the center hole, and your thumb on the edge of the disc ONLY!

Rinse the disc under running water, and then shake the disc several times to get the water off.

Wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Take the disc back to the console which should now have finished booting.

Insert the disc, and check that the game tile appears as the last game tile in the recently played game tiles. It should also have a disc icon in the corner.

If that's the case, the console should now download the digital game. After download, you just need the disc to "unlock" the digitally downloaded game, as the disc contains the license to play the game thanks to the security sector on the disc.

The disks are clean. They play on 360 consoles fine. Just will not spin in my xo console. Doesn't acknowledge there's anything in the drawer. They are the only disks that won't work. I have no idea what could cause this.
