Calibration on Xbox One

I need some help on calibrating my Xbox One Wireless Controller. I want to know if calibrating it is possible. I have some controller drift on the left stick and was wondering if calibrating it would fix the drift. Thanks!

Hi there,

as far as I know it's not possible to calibrate any reqular Xbox one Wireless controllers to prevent drifting.

You can check if your controller needs a firmware update which can help with multiple controller issues.

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Under System, select Settings.
  3. Under Devices & streaming, select Accessories.
  4. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “” to check the firmware version for your controller.
  5. If it says there’s no update available, your controller is current. If it says “Update,” follow the steps provided.

I have a similar problems this morning. While in BL3, my character would back up by itself when I would'nt touch the left joystick. I was able to correct that issue using in-game settings and play with the "inner deadzone" left stick setting.

Then I notices it was also turning right by itself, just a little. Did the same thing for the right joystick.

Before that I tried calibrating it with my computer, using a usb cable and typing joy.cpl but I did not find any improvment. That's why I tried the in-game settings after.

Here's the video that showed me how to do it in windows:

While in game settings to change the dead zone will work, many do not have this option. All in all it comes down to the controller being faulty/broken
