ADVICE: Using your Xbox One OFFLINE during service outages.

Hi there,

Most are aware of the current service outage, and I would encourage you all to have some patience, while the relevant teams work to get things up and running again.

A temporary workaround to use your content, until services are restored, is to set your console to 'Offline' via Settings > Network Settings. By doing this, you should be able to sign in locally, until any outage is resolved. More on the process, here. This will NOT work on games that require an internet connection.

If you don't perform this step, your profile will continue to attempt to connect to Xbox Live, FAIL, and will play a sign in - sign out game, over and over again, causing you MORE frustration.

All Ambassadors, Moderators, the Xbox Support Team and fellow gamers are trying to help, by keeping up with numerous threads, so please have a little consideration for us folks. Creating more, only makes the problem worse.

Keep up to date on the outage, by visiting the Xbox Live Status page

Hope this little bit of useful info, helps.

L

Good advice. People need to keep in mind that if their Xbox is  ot set as "home" than this won't work for the digital games they've purchased.

Only other thing I'd add is a link to the support page.

I agree. You can still play your games offline. Just cant play MP, or Division 2. I love that game by the way
Mine thoughts exactly.

Oh yea lets just tell everyone to keep calm.... really... its been down for over 8 hrs..

And you’re temporary work around does not work.

Are we going to get some sort of compensation for not being able to use a service that we pay for on a monthly/yearly basis?

Can we get some real info on when microsoft is going to fix this? Or are we going to continue to sit in the dark?

Thanks for the support, and I had already linked that page you mentioned, under the "More on the process, here." part, lol

Xbox services being down is becoming an almost weekly occurrence!  Are partial refunds available since we are paying for a service that only occasional works?
Yeah that's great, Here is the thing tho.  NOBODY CARES. CANT SAVE GAMES CANT LOAD SAVED GAMES CANT PLAY ONLINE POINTLESS.... BUT THANKS TIPS.  FYI WE ALL KNOW THIS ALREADY

Hi there,

The workaround that I have posted here has worked for me, for the past 4 years, when there have been connection issues. If you are trying to access an online game, again, this WILL NOT WORK. As mentioned in the comments here, if your console is not set as your Home Xbox, this will also, not work.

We Ambassadors do not work for Microsoft, but are volunteers from the knowledgeable Worldwide community.

I personally, do not welcome ranting. We do not have answers that you are demanding, as we are in the same boat.

Look into how businesses are run and how businesses handle internal, confidential information. This is why there are no answers. Microsoft are not required to make official statements on outages, but I do hope that this is all acknowledged in the coming days.

Best,

As far as I know, they haven't said anything about these outages yet.

Although, they have given out compensation in the past. That doesn't mean they will everytime though.

I think the last time they did was when Titanfall 1 launched.
