Error message: [DEV STRING] There is a problem with your current language

Hello, since the most recent update, whenever I resume or power on my Xbox One console I see this message taking up the whole of the screen:

[DEV STRING] There is a problem with your current language
[DEV STRING] Something is wrong with the installed language that you have set. Select repair to fix this issue. Otherwise select not now and we will try again later.

Underneath are two buttons marked "[DEV STRING]Repair language" (sic) and "Not now"

Whichever button I click, nothing seems to happen and the console continues to the dashboard. The next time I resume or power on the console the error message appears again.

Any ideas how to fix? I've tried installing another language, cold rebooting and a factory reset, but it still appears at every resume/power on. This is on an original model Xbox One running the most recent preview update.

Thanks for any ideas!

Hey All.

Sorry for the inconvenience here, but it's definitely a known issue and the devs are investigating.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

It just took a couple of seconds after clicking repair for the download and verification page to show.

The actual pack for me was 46MB, it's very small.

Not sure why yours isn't downloading though Moorkus Rex.

Perhaps the next update will sort it out.

:o)

Ah well, will wait for the next update. What's most annoying is that I can't dismiss the error screen via streaming, I have to use the connected display. Bit of a pain since I play mostly via streaming.

Thanks all, appreciate it.

Hi Moorkus Rex,

I also got this after the first update, I clicked on the repair button and what you should get is a download of the missing language pack.

It's very small and it downloads and verifies then proceeds onto the dashboard.

After this, the console boots up as normal.

Are you maybe not allowing enough time for the pop up of the language pack to install ?

:o)

Hi, and thanks for commenting so quickly!

When I click the repair button the console just goes to the dashboard and sits there. I've let it sit for fifteen minutes and nothing else has (apparently) happened. At least, there's no indication that anything's happening. How long did it take for the language pack download to appear for you?

(All that said, despite what the message says there doesn't seem to be anything actually wrong, everything seems to be working fine.)
