March 15th: Preview Ring 3 build available (1703.170308-1900)

NOTE FOR PREVIEW RING 3 PARTICIPANTS:

Tonight we’re releasing the 1703 system update to a subset of the users enrolled in Preview Ring 3.

We know all Xbox One Update Preview participants are eager to check out new features and experiences, and will make 1703 available to all of Preview Ring 3 in the coming weeks.

Thanks for participating in the Xbox One Update Preview and being an Xbox Insider!

HOW TO GET IT

• If your console is in Instant-On mode and you have been selected to receive the update, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

• NOTE: Once the update is available to you, you can manually begin the update by launching the Guide and navigating to All Settings > System > Console info & updates.

• If you have been selected to receive the update and your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 4:00 AM PST 3/16/2017, you will be prompted to do so at that time.

DETAILS

OS version released: rs_xbox_dev_flight.170308-1900

Available: 6:00PM PDT 3/15 (1:00AM GMT 16/3)

NEW FEATURES:

Check out some of the big features in this update on the Xbox News Wire!

• Beam

Beam is an innovative and interactive livestreaming service that gives viewers the ability to watch and deeply interact with their favorite game streamers in real-time, and you can now access Beam from the Guide on Xbox One!

You can read more about getting started with Beam in this post in the 1703 Preview Announcements forum.

• Beam App

The Beam app is now installed by default on Xbox One! To get started with the Beam app, navigate to My games & apps and search for Beam. Please use the Beam app and let us know if you encounter any issues via Report a problem.

Automatic Updates
You can now enable automatic updates independently from your console’s power mode (Instant-On or Energy-saving). To enable automatic updates, navigate to the new updates interface in Settings > System > Updates. Consoles in Energy-saving Mode will download any available updates at shut down. For consoles in Instant-On mode, the experience remains the same.

Achievement Tracker
You can now control the transparency level and number of achievements in the achievement tracker.

KNOWN ISSUES:

• Party Chat

Party chat will stop functioning when headset audio is switched from Stereo Uncompressed to Windows Sonic while in a party.

• Controller

Upon resuming from connected standby, you may be prompted to update your controller firmware when no update is available.

• Cortana

Cortana may take a long time to respond when activated while playing certain games.

• Notifications

Some users may not receive certain types of notifications.

• Game Clips

After capturing a game clip, the game clip fails to automatically post to the Activity Feed (if your profile is configured to do so).
Workaround: Manually view game clips in Profile > Captures > Manage captures and post to the Activity Feed.

• EA Access

The EA Access app may indicate you are not an EA Access subscriber when you are. This does not affect your ability to download or play games from the Vault, or receive discounts on EA titles.

• Settings - Ease of Access

When enabling the Mono output setting in Ease of Access - Audio, Settings becomes unresponsive, crashes, and fails to launch on subsequent attempts.
Workaround: To launch Settings, perform a hard reset (hold down the button on the front of the console for five seconds until it fully powers down, then power it back on).

• Settings - Display & sound

The Audio output page is under construction and some of the new settings are not yet functional. New support is planned for Dolby Atmos for home theater, Dolby Atmos for headphones, and more in upcoming builds. An announcement will be made when these new features are ready to try out; enabling these settings now will have no effect.

• Wireless Display

The Wireless Display app fails to launch and immediately crashes to Home.

Apologies if this is in the wrong place... Can we have an option to cancel game updates? I need to have my console on instant on and for game updates to take place as my broadband is rubbish so i'd still like some of this to happen whilst I'm at work, but I have more than 300 games which means there's rarely a day that I don't have any game updates. This means my bandwidth gets totally hogged by the Xbox a lot of the time. Sure I can pause but this just means I have to do it later and if my current download gets interrupted, it jumps to the next download. I'd ideally just like to have the games I want to update or install with the option for others not to apply or update. IF I don't pause I have to uninstall as well. In a non-fibre area with 1-4mb broadband, it's a massive pain to get what you want downloaded let alone still be able to use another device on the network. My Netflix struggles too sometimes buffering repeatedly and that's just within the first 4mins of an HD episode (tried and tested sadly - repeatedly).

Even just a download priority option to say the selected game update or install as a top priority and stop all else till given permission would be beneficial I'm sure.
