Hi tanyajain11,

It is possible that the system cannot complete the installation of Windows Essentials due to the previous version in your computer or the system prevents the installation of a certain program. To troubleshoot this error, please perform a clean installation of Windows Essentials in your computer using the steps below:

Note that Clean Install is different from manually removing then reinstalling the program.

1. Uninstall Windows Essentials programs that are currently installed on your computer.

How to uninstall Windows Essentials via CMD line parameter

2. Browse your computer to C:\Program Files then delete the Windows folder if available.

C:\Program Files\Windows Live
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Live

Note: If there is more than one Program Files folder upon opening C drive, then double click on Program Files x86 instead.

3. Install Windows Essentials using our offline installer:

Click on the link "Essentials installer files for Windows Live Essentials for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2008" below the page and choose you preferred language.

4. Restart your computer.

Please let us know if the issue still persists.

Thanks!
