Windows Movie Maker Error 0x887A0005 gives extremely incorrect feedback about cause of error.

I get this error on WMM a lot. I see other people getting it also. But the Error message doesnt give correct feedback.

I get this error when my RAM gets over 90% full. Other applications can still read the files.

Can WMM have better error feedback?

I had to go to Task Monitor and watch the processes and graphs to work out the real source of the error.

Also it would be good if WMM could manage RAM runout by using HDD cache and being patient.

Ive only got 4gb RAM, so In order to make my movies, i have to create pieces about 1o seconds long out of images (im doing timelapse), then take the pieces of the movie and put them into a single project to save them into one movie.

WMM can handle long videos if the pieces are pre-processed video, but it totally cant handle images.

it really blows out my editing time, and means i have to interact with my computer a number of times to make one movie, that should only need one interaction at the start.

Same problem here.  I have 8gb of RAM.  Bad files move around within WMM project.  Going to try again with just rebooted system.

yes, error messages from Movie Maker are often just clues, and not necessarily good ones, about the root cause of the issues.

 Ayant une longue pratique de Movie Maker sur Windows Vista (Sans aucun de Problème), je suis passé à Windows 10 depuis 6 mois.  Après avoir monté une vidéo à partir de mes photos et ma musique, j'ai voulu éditer un film d'environ 40 minutes et n'ai pu le faire. Un message d'erreur 0x887A0005 apparaissant à chaque fois en m'invitant à supprimer des photos non utilisables maise n'était pas la même à chaque fois. Finalement, après avoir consulté le forum, j'ai suivi le conseil d'un intervenant dans le débat et, après avoir découpé mon montage video en séquences  de moins de 10 minutes, j'ai pu enregistrer mon montage en cinq films au lieu d'un seul.

Questions:  Quelqu'un peut-il m'orienter vers un logiciel de montage vidéo adapté à Windows 10? Et vers un logiciel de gravage de CD et DVD?  Sur ces sujets, le Windows Store est nul.
