Question

Q: movie maker The specified module could not be found. This thread is locked from future replies

I keep getting this error message when I try to load a song (MP3) into movie maker. I have Windows Vista.
I have had this problem several times before but now Im really annoyed because it is an MP3 that I purchased and not a song I got - lets say- from teh Internet Archives. ( public domain / old songs on that site that sometimes dont work in movie maker) I have no idea what module cannot be found. I dontget it. Im no dummy but this is weird hehe! and annoying! Thank you so much~Stacy

.MP3 files have been problematic in all versions of
Movie Maker... Try converting the .MP3 files to the
.WMA format berfore importing and you may have a
better reasult.

There are many converters available on the net...the
following link is one example:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory (freeware)
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is fastest)
(the file you want to download is : >FFSetup295.zip<)
(FWIW...when installing...you may want to uncheck
'all' the boxes on the final screen)
(Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First...after downloading and installing Format
Factory...you may want to open the program and
left click the 'Option' button on the toolbar and
select an 'Output Folder' / Apply / OK.
(this is where you will find your files after they
are converted)

Drag/drop your music files onto the main screen...

Select 'All to WMA' / OK...

Click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...
