Movie made in Movie Maker plays sound but no video
I imported MP4 files from a Samsung camera and Movie Maker converted them automatically. I made my edits and saved the project as a DVD burn and as a "wmv" file. I burned it to DVD using Windows DVD Maker, but when I attempt to play the DVD on the same
laptop, a different laptop, a desktop computer and a DVD player, the sound plays, but not the video. Even if I try to play the saved movie directly from the laptop, there is sound, but no video. It plays perfectly in preview mode within Movie Maker. Even
the title screen I chose when using DVD Maker shows up perfectly when playing the DVD. Each PC I've tried is running Windows 7, Media Player 12 and Movie Maker version 2012.
Thanks for posting your query. I understand that you are having issues playing the video you created. Let's try to isolate if one of these contributes to the issue:
Bad codecs
You may try fixing bad codecs if there are any by running
Microsoft FixIt tool for codec. You can also use
MediaInfo to determine any faulty on your codecs in your computer.
Outdated video card driver
You can use DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag) to determine if your video driver is updated. Try following the steps below.
1. Press Windows + R and type
dxdiag in the Search programs and file box and press
Enter key on the keyboard.
2. Click on the Display tab and you will see the driver details including the driver version.
3. If your video card driver seems outdated please go to the video card driver manufacturer and see if a newer version is available.
