Hi everyone,

This is Ryniel of the Hotmail\Outlook.com Support Specialist team. I'm one of the moderators who manages this thread.

First of all, we would like to inform you that the issue should be fixed by now. Our Product Group has identified the problem and was able to fix the issue.

For updates regarding the recent outage, please checkout this link:  https://status.live.com

If you encounter the same issue, we recommend you follow the steps below as one of these steps may resolve your issue.

1. We suggest that you upgrade to the latest version of your browser. You can refer to these links for information about the best browser that you can use for your account; Best browser for Outlook.com. You can also optimize your browser by following the steps provided on this article: Optimize Internet Explorer. If you have not updated Silverlight, we recommend that you install the updated version of Silverlight, please visit ‘Get Microsoft Silverlight for instructions.

2. Disable your browser's add-ons. Disabling your browser's add-ons can improve your experience in navigating Outlook.com. Please refer to this link for information about add-ons:

Manage add-ons in Internet Explorer:


NOTE: If you're using browser other than Internet Explorer, please contact the respective browser support.

3. Try using another browser. Check if you encounter the same issue on different browsers.

If you confirmed that the issue still persist after doing the following steps, please respond to this thread with the following message,“Please provide a private message area so I can submit all the information needed for your investigation.”  We will then create a private message area for you so that you can provide all of the needed information that we will use for our investigation. (See post of Jen_C on the 1st page of this thread).

Please take note that this thread is for Latency in Outlook.com. If you have issues other than this, kindly create a new post under Outlook.com forum.
