Windows Live Mail screen defaults to 'File', not 'Home'

My Live Mail (Win10) all works, but its default page is "File", not "Home"..... also when mailing, "File" instead of "Message". This means continual extra clicks just to use 'bold', 'italic' etc. ..... Is there a way to make it stay on "Home" (and "Message") instead of "File"??

Right-click on the Home tab and then on Minimize the ribbon to deselect it. In a message window, similarly right-click on the Message tab.

Ctrl-F1 works, too, in both cases.

I still have to do a lot of clicking just to type a word in bold.  Funny, 'cause it didn't used to be this way.
